THE WHITE FLATS 2024
A 24 min ‘no budget’ film made entirely by residents of the Whittington Estate
Described by an architectural historian as ‘the poetics of habitation’, this is a piece of work commemorating the achievements of architect Peter Tabori and his design of the Whittington Estate (or Highgate Newtown Phase 1). It speaks to current residents and explores what it’s like to live in a celebrated modernist housing estate.
Directed & edited by Anna Price, produced by Jo McCafferty and Rachel Stevenson, filmed by Marc Silver and Anna Price, music by Tara Creme
A DELlCATE SIGHT 2020
22 min short film directed by Anna Price in collaboration with Sam Winston
‘A Delicate Sight uses darkness, closed books, unseen pictures and partially heard songs to explore the promise of the imagination. Initially a group of artists were asked to do darkness residences, in which they spent a period of time in complete blackout. From their experience they generated drawings, texts and films inspired by their time in the dark. A Delicate Sight showcases their work and also invites you to explore your own world of heightened senses.’
Project conceived & produced by artist Sam Winston. Film directed & edited by Anna Price, featuring the writers Bernardine Evaristo, Max Porter, Don Paterson and Raymond Antrobus.
Photography: Pietro Martini, Andy Sewell, Ed Prosser; Music & Sound Design: Andy Cowton; Colorist: Boyd Nagle
Initially intended to become part of an immersive exhibition showing at the National Writing Centre and the Barbican; now partially online due to COVID 19.
